Parting of the Ways

Well, I've neglected my blog for about a month since my mom has been doing a good job of documenting what we've been doing as a family. She's not here to blog for me anymore so I suppose I should pick it back up!
I waved goodbye to my family after what seemed like an eternity of moving around carseats and stuff and food and books and DVDs and suitcases and people. My grandmother drove me and the other half of my things down to my new apartment in Provo. I'll be sharing it with 5 other girls including my cousin Emma.
Mostly I've just been unpacking and moving things around. I'm trying to wait to organize anything since I want to make sure that the setup is comfortable for everyone. So I decided to ride my bike down to the D.I. that isn't too far from where I'm staying. I wanted to finally get a picture frame for the family photo that I've had for about a year now.
After not too much searching I found the perfect-sized frame. But it was bright yellow. (Which would totally clash with the colors in the family photo.) It was only $1.00 so I decided to get it and some silver metallic spray paint to hopefully make the clash a little less "clashy."

Here are the pictures of its transformation:

So glad to see a new post from you! I check yours everyday, waiting for news, new picts, your witty comments...

The silver frame is pretty! I am impressed with your creative control of your environment--YES, paint can improve almost anything!

And spray paint on fabric does delicious things--try it through lacy tablecloths, or over contact paper cutouts, through a cereal box cut out to make a stencil (confessions of a wanna-be-graffiti tagger if it were legal).

Ummm, inside spray painting??? Fumes, baby? Feeling high? Can I be honest/bossy/I-told-you-so-aunty for a minute here?

There are only two reasons I would spray inside: 1) Trying to get rid of all my roommates and didn't care if my landlord evicted me. 2). All the doors and windows open and fan blowing and the piece was too big to take outside and I had an inhaler on to protect my asthma-prone lungs!

And never, ever when gestating. Ever. (for future reference).

I usually spray out on our front lawn, which, to be honest, makes funny marks on the grass, but hey, I think it will get mowed soon. I'll sacrifice anything for art!

Great job! It's good to hear from you again. Hey, have you ever thought of going to Jerusalem with BYU?
